Support for student cycling programs
Young people love riding their bikes. One of the main objectives of the NSW BikePlan is to make bike-riding safe for all, with a special focus on primary and secondary school age children. This section provides information on how the NSW Government is working with schools, families, community groups and other organisations to develop safe cycling programs for young students.
- Bicycle NSW Resources for Schools - community resources designed to make riding to and from school fun and normal for kids through practical and tailored strategies, guidance, and advice;
- NSW Department of Education & Training - Riding to School - provides teachers with information and guidance about students cycling to and from school;
- NSW Department of Education & Training - Road Safety Education - provides teachers with implementation guidelines on road safety education policy and support, including school student travel;
- NSW Department of Education & Training - Active Travel - provides schools with guidance and information on active travel options like walking and cycling.
